O'Cain/Peacock armed confrontation + threats to the presidio. The seizure of cabo Osuna + 2 soldiers at Todos Santos: 20 men ashore, 15 armed; they put musket muzzles to the corporal's chest & back and dragged the soldiers from their saddles. Released them (6th) with a threat — unless the held pilot (taken via the San Juan Capistrano escolta to the brig Peacock, also O'Cain's) is surrendered, O'Cain will return and destroy the battery, then the presidio. Rodríguez summoned escort troops from San Gabriel/San Juan/San Luis Rey, built a parapet on the battery esplanade vs. grapeshot; Osuna released at San Quintín (9th).
