On deserter punishment: abolishes the penalty of *baquetas* (running the gauntlet) throughout the Indies; 2nd-time deserters 'con iglesia' instead get 6 months in shackles (cleaning duty) then 10 years presidio, without formal trial, whether or not they hold sanctuary.
