full verbatim *sumaria* in the José Antonio Rosas bestiality case (see expanded entry). Process begun 23 June 1800; fiscal Pablo de Cota, escribano Ignacio Martínez, interpreter José Mª Domínguez (sworn, for the Indian witnesses); reported to Fr. Vicente de Santa María; ⭐⭐ depositions of two Indian neophyte women — María Ambrosia & María Tomasa; mule of vecino Agustín Leiva; Rosas's confession; Sgt José Mª Ortega's mercy defense (Rosas tried to bribe the witnesses; 'distinguished from the Indians only by his clothing'); fiscal & Auditor de Guerra death sentence, Viceroy's approval; executed by firing squad 11 Feb 1801, body burned with the mule. ⚠ Savage's note: 'not fully extracted when vol. XXVIII was gone through; taken from pp.487–533' — so this is the full copy of the Doc 222 original (same doc, two extractions). ✓ Confirms the Cota death (cert. says he was 'ya menos')
