Fiscal: his 'disparates' stem from ignorance of doctrine & frivolous *charlatanería* — sentence to public works at the SD presidio w/ grillete + public satisfaction to the pueblo of Los Ángeles + must learn doctrine & take Penance/Eucharist publicly. ⭐ A striking case of religious dissent/skepticism in 1817 California.
