Provincial State Papers, Benicia (Military), tomo XL–LII · BANC MSS C-A 17, document 318

'Declaraciones de insurgentes de la expedición de Bouchard' — depositions of the 4 captured/surrendered crew of Bouchard's frigates, revealing the multinational makeup of the expedition: (1) Pedro Saldívar, 22, of Buenos Aires, cabo; (2) Juan de la Rosa, 27, of Scotland, labrador; (3) Nicolás Blanco, 21, of Santa Fé, soldier of the frigate *Consecuencia*; (4) Mateo José Pascual, ~25, native of Africa, panadero, baptized in Buenos Aires. All questioned on Isidro Molina — uniformly testify he was drunk at the Monterey presidio, riding a white horse, not a prisoner, who came over voluntarily ('se ha venido á pasar á presentar'), with a rumor he was a spy (*vigía*) sent by the Governor; couldn't say if he landed at the Ortegas' rancho or went ashore willingly at Sta Bárbara. Each signed with a cross (illiterate). A remarkable primary source on Bouchard's crew & the Molina case. Orig. pp.~256–61

The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
