Provincial State Papers, Benicia (Military), tomo XL–LII · BANC MSS C-A 17, document 353

Habilitado-general crisis. Solá resolves to send Capt. de la Guerra y Noriega to México to attend to the *situados* (subsidy) accounts of California & demand accounts from the interim habilitado José Antonio [Ormart?] and the current one, Alfz Gervasio Argüello; needs a monthly 100-peso assignment for the 4 presidios to cover de la Guerra's extraordinary travel costs. Notes he failed to get Gervasio Argüello to go to México to exercise the Habilitado General post — Argüello has been ~3 years stuck in Guadalajara. Orig. pp.518–521.

The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
