Causa vs. cavalry recruit Francisco Soto — insubordination + complicity in the 8 Oct 1828 Monterey revolt ('delito que la ley castiga con pena de muerte'). The fiscal recommends not death but transfer to another presidio for correction, given Soto's prison time (since Nov 1828), being a recruit, and the daily-ration scarcities — 'lo mismo que lo están los demás individuos que se sublevaron.' (Result not found.) Confirms the 1828 Monterey rising was a serious sublevación. Orig. pp.658–679.
