How to cite this document
José Salcido (S. Juan Capistrano) to the Moradores of Los Angeles, 1840-06-25, Departmental State Papers, Los Angeles, Prefecturas y Juzgados I–IV, pp.506–507, Archives of California, C-A 34, Bancroft Library, University of California, Berkeley. [the tomo is given as the volume’s full range: this entry has not been resolved to a single tomo within Prefecturas y Juzgados I–IV]Cite the document by series, tomo and original tomo page, as the literature does; the C-A number locates it in the repository. To cite this catalogue entry itself, use https://archivesofcalifornia.com/record/ca34/ca34-d1326.htmlThe originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
