Verbatim heading: '1828 Nov. 18. Rosario / Riesgo - á Herrera - Sobre tropa sentenciada á servir en Cal.' English gloss: cavalry troops taken prisoner and sentenced to serve out their time in the Alta California presidial companies. Substance: makes known a Supreme Government order that 'cierta tropa de caballería hecha prisionera por el Genl Anaya pase á continuar sus servicios en las Compas presidiales de Alta Cal., embarcándose al efecto en San Blas', and that it is to be supported by the company to which it is attached 'desde el dia sigte al [des]embarque en San Blas.' The prefix of that last noun is cramped: my reading is desembarque, but embarque cannot be excluded. Savage does not give the Generals first name; identifying him is not possible from the leaf.
