Buelna answers a charge of contrabandista for having taken off the Telémaco, with the guards' knowledge, “un cajon de panocha”, and counter-denounces a far bigger run: “un formidable contrabando como el que condujo del mismo buque Dn Guillermo Rechason (Richardson) en el mes de Febrero para las misiones de Sta Clara y Sn José” = the cargo Richardson landed by launch to Missions Sta Clara and San José, proved by more than three eyewitnesses and by oficios the guard Antonio Moreno passed to the aduana comisario Raymundo Estrada; “asciende á mas de tres mil pesos”; alleges Capt. Ygnacio Martínez knew and that Richardson had paid only $200 internación.
