- Previously read Dated 1845-03-01.. Full-resolution crop (blind sample audit #122/200, 2026-07-19): "1845 - Marzo 17 - Los Angeles" — March 17, not 1; the leaf's page sequence (237–38, 239, 240–41) runs chronologically Mar 1 → 12 → 17, corroborating.
The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
