= Farías amends Art. 1 of the decree of 4 Feb. 1834 issued under the colonization law of April 1830. Savage plainly writes 16; the law in question is the ley de colonización of 6 April 1830 [?]. Directly relevant to the Mexican colonization regime under which California grants were made.
