'Informe general sobre California' — a comprehensive sectioned state-of-the-territory economic survey (Expanded-Entry candidate): *Agricultura* (wheat/grains, vineyards as the future export; ⭐ the indigenous natives 'han sido siempre y son hasta la fecha los únicos brazos laboriosos del país'); *Crías* (cattle/sheep/wild 'mesteña' horses); *Manufacturas* (mission-neophyte textiles/crafts; cattle hides the only export; 'falta de brazos'); ⭐⭐⭐ *Pesca* (otter & beaver 'could have been the principal element' but foreigners exploit them fraudulently, buying pelts cheap from the natives; no national ship to stop them destroying the island otter-grounds; SF-Bay-river beaver the great untapped resource); *Minas* (no valuable minerals known, iron most common — pre-Gold-Rush); ⭐⭐ *Epidemias* (smallpox rare so vaccination neglected, no physician in the whole territory, venereal disease 'devouring' the neophytes, mission medicine-chests 'no sirven de nada'; the mission regime 'no proporcionado á la salud de los indígenas,' their condition 'muy lastimosa, digna de lamentarse' — a governor's mission-health indictment); *Población* / *Milicia local* / *Tranquilidad pública* (the 1829 Solís revolution) / *Seguridad* (the vast fertile country's wealth 'excita la codicia,' keep criminal colonists out).
