GLOSS: Sal to lieutenant-governor Arrillaga on the supply of artillery and stores for the presidio. SUBSTANCE: he took advantage of the coming of D.n Juan de la Quadra, Comandante of San Blas, and after offering him his services spoke to him of the need for the vessel that brings the situados to put in here, to which Quadra promised he would give strict orders that in future the ship should come here. He also represented to him that the presidio had only one cannon, and that one burst many years ago, and that this port ought to be regarded with much attention. Quadra offered to send on the schooner 'Saturnina' 4 or 5 cannon, since he recognised that up to 10 or 12 ought to be placed on the cantil blanco. He also asked him for 5 quintales of fine powder, and he supplied it. NOTE: the published n120 row already refers to this leaf as 'the boundary letter i.119' but no row for it exists in the export.

Correction to this entry.
The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
