'Sobre buques que han pasado frente al puerto.' — A second Sal letter of 31 Oct 1792 (companion to the boundary letter i.119): on the 21st a frigate passed the harbor mouth and saluted with 4 cannon (answered in kind), thought to be the *'Concepción'[?]*; on the 24th two frigates + a sloop/brig seen near the mouth heading apparently north, judged to be Vancouver's ships en route to Monterey. ⭐ Sal's running ship-movement intelligence during the Vancouver visit. → Vancouver's *Voyage* (1798), the 1793 Bodega failure, the Sal papers.
