Previously uncatalogued — recovered by the 2026-08-27 coverage audit: the document lay inside the declared span of a grouped entry covering n101-n116, which had passed every completeness check while concealing it. Heading verbatim: '+ 1838. Mayo 2. Mej.o / Pavon al admor de la aduana marit.a de S.n Fr.co / Le comunica lo mismo que en p. 30 comunicó al admor de la aduana de S. Diego. — p.p. 333-4.' [= 1838 - May 2 - Mexico. Pavon to the administrator of the San Francisco maritime customs house. He communicates the same thing he communicated on p. 30 to the administrator of the San Diego customs house.] Circular repeated to San Francisco of an order previously sent to San Diego. Establishes that a San Francisco maritime customs house was being addressed directly from Mexico in 1838.

Correction to this entry.
The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
