Previously uncatalogued — recovered by the 2026-08-27 coverage audit: the document lay inside the declared span of a grouped entry covering n117-n131, which had passed every completeness check while concealing it. Heading verbatim: '+ 1839. Feb. 28. Mej. - / Pavon al admor de la adª de Monterey. / Contrabando.' [= Warning on the brig Pearl, out of Liverpool, from the Mexican consul there] Transcribes a communication from the Mexican consul at Liverpool on the sailing of the brig Pearl from that port for Iztapa and San Blas. The consul says the cargo, quoted by Savage, 'no es inferior en su valor á los anteriores qe se han introducido clandestinamte en aquel puerto y el de Mazatlan'. Pavón tells him to keep watch on that vessel. A named-ship contraband warning reaching Monterey; a candidate for the ship registry.
