Superior Government State Papers, Benicia, tomo XIX–XXI · BANC MSS C-A 58, document 48

Previously uncatalogued — recovered by the 2026-08-27 coverage audit: the document lay inside the declared span of a grouped entry covering n53-n71, which had passed every completeness check while concealing it. Heading verbatim: '√ Decreto trunco sobre espulsion de Españoles. / p.p 282-3.' [= Truncated decree on the expulsion of Spaniards.] Savage flags this one with a check mark rather than the usual '+', and calls the copy trunco (truncated/incomplete). The expulsion decrees against Spaniards are the legal backdrop to the position of the Spanish-born Franciscans in the California missions, so a copy of one reaching the California archive is substantive even in mutilated form. No record exists for it. Note the catalog does hold a separate and different item, d36 at n80, on the expulsion of foreigners prejudicial to public order; this is not that.
