'Pedro Ceballos al Virey de N.E. = Relativa á buques contrabandistas' — 'Participa R.l resolucion, tomada en vista de los esesos cometidos p.r Naves estranjeras en el mar del Sur q.e con pretexto de la pesca de ballena hacen el contrabando en gran escala, y la q.e se contrae á q.e se impida aporten á los puertos Españoles, arreglándose á las disposiciones q.e anteriorm.te han sido dadas sobre el particular' [= communicates the royal resolution taken in view of the excesses committed by foreign ships in the South Sea which, under pretext of whaling, smuggle on a large scale; the resolution is that they be prevented from putting in at Spanish ports, in conformity with earlier dispositions]. Savage adds the copyist's note '(Cop. p.r Ximenez - Mex. Ab.l 14 - 803)'. [= this is the R.l órden de 10 Ag.to de 802 enclosed with the preceding item: same date, and copied at Mexico on the very day of Iturrigaray's covering letter.]
