KUSKOV'S OWN LETTER (English translation by Iván Pisteff). As 'Commercial Councillor' of the Honorable Russian-American Company, under special protection of His Majesty the Emperor of all the Russias: received the Gov.'s April letter via Moraga but couldn't act (no interpreter, can't read Spanish); offers the Gov. a present (a tent his men left at SF); asks the return of the Kodiak men captured at San Francisco (they 'did no wrong,' only saved themselves from the surf) + 2 men & 2 women Kodiaks detained in 1813.

To cite this catalogue entry itself, use https://archivesofcalifornia.com/record/ca12/ca12-d438.htmlThe originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
