Letter (English translation, Iván Pisteff transl.): received the French-language letter via Moraga & Gervasio Argüello but had no interpreter; sends the RAC confidential agent Slobodchikov to San Francisco with a boat & 3 bidarkas to settle the balance due, offering goods per enclosed invoice or 2 oxen; again asks return of the Kodiak men — if Arrillaga has truly ordered it, forward them; else 'it is my duty to inform my superior officers and the Home Government'; forwards the tent & enclosed letter to the Monterey commander.

What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
