- Previously read Scan pin n218 for the Thomas Pearce / Broughton mention (orig. p. xxii.~482).. n218 carries tomo pp. ~559–562 (San Diego fort works; Feb 1795 letters) — not this content. Page interpolation (n190 = p.428, n208 = p.531) places p.~482 near leaves n199–n200. Re-pin attempt 2026-07-22: leaves n197–n203 are the 1794 Arrillaga/Borica correspondence cluster (orig pp. ~449–575, heavily interleaved), NOT the tomo-XXII p.482 Pearce/Broughton item — the correct leaf is elsewhere in the interleaved volume and remains to be located; the record stays flagged with this tightened bound.
The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
