Heading verbatim: 'A su padre - politico. / Dic.e 20.' GLOSS: Borica to his father-in-law (named on scan n226 as Agustin de Urquidy). A small fort has been finished at San Francisco costing about 7,000 pesos; the Viceroy wants an identical one built at San Diego but without cost to the King, and Borica remarks sarcastically that perhaps they will want him to pay for it himself. Many trade exemptions have been granted to expeditions coming directly from Europe to Baja California or San Blas; he expects a ship of a certain Marques de Cadiz and another of the Gremios de Madrid. Text begins on n213 and finishes at the head of n214.
