Dep. State Papers, Benicia (Military), tomo LXXVIII–LXXXVIII · BANC MSS C-A 20, document 459

'Sobre disposic.s testamentarias del Alfz. J.º Velasquez.' In Oct. 1785 at the presidio Velásquez told Zúñiga 'q.e era su voluntad q.e el 5.º de sus bienes se dedicasen á su alma cuando muriese y el resto se diese á sus 2 hijas'; he told the same to Fr. Juan Riobo, minister of the nearest mission. He died at S. Gabriel without contradicting it. Zúñiga had earlier reported to Inspector Soler that he died ab-intestato, and the liquidation of his ajustes was divided among the daughters; 'trata de probar con esto q.e no murió ab-intestato como equivocadam.te lo dijo ántes.' Spans n450-n451.
