Closing cite: 'pp 407-408.' [= three years without pay for the governor and his subordinates; the four Mis[iones] in a pitiable state; no news even reaches them from New Spain because no ships come.] TRANSCRIPTION CAUTION: the superscript on Mis. is two letters read as -es; the referent of Cuatro is not explained anywhere on the leaf, and I did not infer one.
