How to cite this document
Arrillaga to Jesús Álvarez, Capitán General [del Río Yaqui, cf. T8-24], Loreto, 1796-02-11, Provincial Records, p.VIII:11–12, Archives of California, C-A 25, Bancroft Library, University of California, Berkeley. [the tomo is given as the volume’s full range: this entry has not been resolved to a single tomo within VIII–X]Cite the document by series, tomo and original tomo page, as the literature does; the C-A number locates it in the repository. To cite this catalogue entry itself, use https://archivesofcalifornia.com/record/ca25/ca25-d18.htmlCorrection to this entry.
- Previously read orig_page: 'p.—'. Leaf read: 168036074_80_7_2 n6 (first entry); stamps "6." (pencil) and "7" (printed), so savage_page 7 confirmed. Heading verbatim: "1796. Febrero 11. Loreto / Arrillaga a Jesus Alvarez, Capitan General."; body matches the catalogue summary word for word ("Pide que auxilie á un carpintero y á un calafate que van á reparar las averías del Jabeque Real que naufragó cerca del Estero de las Cruces"). ORIG_PAGE WRONG: the record carries "p.—" (no page), but the entry is explicitly footed "pp. 11-12." on the leaf (verified at 4x crop). This looks systematic in C-A 25 - all three records on this leaf carry "p.—" while the leaf foots pp. 11-12, p. 12 and pp. 12-13. Omissions OK: the other two entries (Feb 11 to D.n Matías Palacios; Junio 3 to Ten. Cor.l Cárcaba) are catalogued as ca25-d019 and ca25-d020.
The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
