GUERRA CON YNGLATERRA [Savage's note]: envía 500 cartuchos con bala y 500 piedras de chispa; el Rey declaró guerra contra los ingleses el 7 de Octe de 1796, publicada en México en 24 de Dic; 'los Yngleses intentan atacar las costas de Califª'; el Virrey ha ordenado defenderlas levantando milicias en Sn Blas; se ha despachado un barco con aviso á Monterey; se han armado en guerra 2 fragatas en S. Blas. Le ordena: forme lista de vecinos de su jurisdicción, especialmente de los que tengan armas y sean útiles; se entienda con el Padre Ministro de Sn José del Cabo para aviso de embarcaciones 'sin fiarse en el color de las banderas pues acostumbran fingirlas con mucha facilidad'
