⚠ BOUNDED (index-grain, characterized across n196/197/198/210/225/240/249) — the routine Baja-California/Loreto administrative tail, LOW-yield: Arrillaga's outgoing letters to Gov. Borica (to 1799) then to the frontier commander (1800–01), grouped by date as 1–5-doc blocks — overwhelmingly *soldados, indios, buques, cuentas, memorias, asuntos militares/diversos* (routine presidio admin, orig pp.574–944). Ends 'Fin' @ n249 = END OF TOMO VIII. ⭐ Notable items pulled: suppression of Mission Santiago (Baja secularization, n197); ⭐ Borica's order to teach the Indians Castilian (19 Feb 1795, n197 — cf linguistic-diversity note); a Loreto primary school, 20 pupils (est. Feb 1796, n210); ⭐ request for 100 Ópata Indian soldiers to the Peninsula for defense against the English (Jun 1799, n225); recurring 'buques avistados' / American-ship sightings + signal-plans for S. Blas ships & watch for the fragata *Concepción* (n240/n249); the worthless Loreto 'piedras ochavadas/Diamantes' curiosity (n196). A future pass could itemize, but discovery ≈ nil (Baja admin).
