'+ 1826 Enero 15, San Diego / José Mª Echeandía al Comandte Militar de Monterey / Sobre prevencion de pago á la tropa (Circular)' [= on the provision for paying the troops]. 'El pago prevenido en el reglamto de Comisarios, por supuesto debe abonarse á la letra en este Territorio con todos los Militares que no sean de Cuera, y aun por lo relativo á estos se observará con la tropa que se recluta desde 1º del presente año' [= the pay prescribed in the commissaries' regulation must of course be paid to the letter in this Territory to all soldiers who are not cuera troops, and even as regards the latter it will be observed with troops recruited from the 1st of the present year].
