SUBSTANCE (verbatim): 'Envia las diligencias practicadas contra Jacobo Sanchez y seis pasquines de éste, avisando que la mayor de los espresadas se quemaron por su obscenidad é insolencia.' GLOSS: judge Antonio Rodriguez forwards to subprefect Raymundo Carrillo the proceedings taken against Jacobo Sanchez together with six of his pasquines (anonymous lampoons), reporting that most of them were burned for their obscenity and insolence. This is the lower-court stage of the pasquines affair; the subprefect forwarding of the same averiguaciones to the Governor (p.427-9, same date, on n162) is already in the catalog.
