How to cite this document
Osio, Adm.dor to M. Sánchez Cabello, Monterey, 1836-06-03, Dep. State Papers, Benicia (Custom House), p.IV.4 (orig. 363), Archives of California, C-A 41, Bancroft Library, University of California, Berkeley. [the tomo is given as the volume’s full range: this entry has not been resolved to a single tomo within I–VIII]Cite the document by series, tomo and original tomo page, as the literature does; the C-A number locates it in the repository. To cite this catalogue entry itself, use https://archivesofcalifornia.com/record/ca41/ca41-d83.htmlThe originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
