Under art. 107 of the Ley Reglamentaria of 20 March 1837, and given the population growth of the Pueblo de S. José de Alvarado, holds it absolutely necessary to name a sub-prefect at that cabecera so that the juzgado there be reduced purely to judicial business and stop meddling, as until now, in political matters outside its sphere. 'el que deberá reducirse puramente á los asuntos judiciales sin mesclarse Como hasta aquí, en los políticos por agenos de su resorte.'
