Vicente Miramontes to Pref., 1841-08-19 Dolores, Departmental State Papers, Monterey, I–VIII, p.507, Archives of California, C-A 43, Bancroft Library, University of California, Berkeley. [the tomo is given as the volume’s full range: this entry has not been resolved to a single tomo within I–VIII]Cite the document by series, tomo and original tomo page, as the literature does; the C-A number locates it in the repository. - Previously read savage_page: '—'. Leaf read: 168036067_81_5 n347. '+ 1841. Agosto 19. Pueblo de Dolores / Vicente Miramontes al Pref.to del 1.er Distrito / Representa que habiendosele cumplido su termino de Juez sea relevado del empleo por carecer de capacidad, para su desempeño / p. 507.' savage_page WRONG: the record enters '—' (no page), but the leaf carries BOTH numbers at top right — printed stamp '347' and, beneath it in ink, '120.' (confirmed on a 3x crop of the corner); the catalogue's own convention for this volume records exactly that pair, e.g. row 947 on the facing leaf gives '346 [stamp] / 119 [hand]'. place PARTIAL: the place field is blank although the heading reads 'Pueblo de Dolores' — the datum survives only inside date_text ('1841-08-19 Dolores'). recipient PARTIAL: leaf reads 'al Pref.to del 1.er Distrito'; catalogue truncates to 'Pref.'. Date, orig p.507 and the quoted phrase 'por carecer de capacidad para su desempeño' match. Omissions: the leaf's other two entries (Guerrero, 1 Julio, p 507; Guerrero, 6 Setiembre, p.p 510-11) are rows 744 and 746.
The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
