Entry verbatim: 'Enero 31... Gloss: the comandante having complained that prisoners were released without his order, they are to be returned to jail and placed at the disposal of the comandante, who is judicially their superior. A civil-versus-military jurisdiction clash over custody. Savage seems to have dropped a word before S.n Juan Bautista.
