(a) Obre 23, pp. 619. 620: set at liberty Julián Cantua and Andrés García

Departmental State Papers, San José, tomo I–III · BANC MSS C-A 44, document 736

(a) Obre 23, pp. 619. 620: set at liberty Julián Cantua and Andrés García; proceed to the construction of the room for the school and the maestro's dwelling; the solares de repartimiento assigned to the newly settled are in order, and 'de ninguna manera dará V. solar fuera del cuadro'; and remit a list of the vecinos fit for cavalry soldiers. (b) Ntre. 21, pp. 621. 622: the vecino militiamen and fit invalids to come to this presidio. (c) Dbre. 16, pp. 623. 624, the sharpest item on the leaf: 'Que José Castro, Juan Albirez y Antonino Buelna llebaron p.a el pueblo cada uno su maleta del saqueo q.e hicieron en el Presidio y entre otras cosas llebaban Paño y Pabilo, proceda con mucha brebedad y reserba al registro de sus casas y dará aviso de su resultado.' Given the date, this concerns plunder taken at Monterey; I have not verified against the Bouchard narrative and flag the connection as inference only.

The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
