Arguello to the Ayuntamiento of San Jose, 14 April 1823, three documents. SUBSTANCE (Savage abstract, running from the middle of n5 to the top of n6): that it is ordered that no person of his jurisdiction leave that cabecera for any point of this province with efectos brought by commerce or trade to sell, without the corresponding guia of every renglon he conducts, stating on the pase the quantity of each efecto for the knowledge of this administracion, which is charged with collecting the imposts expressed in the Resolucion of this Exma. Diputacion. That the responsibility for collecting the tanto de matanza on each res, carnero or marrano slaughtered in that jurisdiction will rest with the person named by that Ayuntamiento, rendering account and remitting the caudales monthly to this Diputacion. That it accompanies the providencia and resolucion taken by this Diputacion in sesion del 12 del corrte. That, considering the fondo de propios y arbitrios established, and that this fondo can cover the payment of dietas and viatico of the Diputado Representante, salaries of the Secretario of the same, of the Exma. Diputacion and Ayuntamientos, Maestros de Escuela etc., that Ayuntamiento is to proceed at once to name a maestro propio for the purpose, assigning him the salary its funds allow, and likewise to assign from other funds the salary it judges fitting for its Secretario.
