Heading verbatim: '1797. Ag.to 12. Megico. / Manuel Carcaba al Gob.or D. Diego de Borica. / Sobre glosa de Cuentas de los Presidios.' The 729 p.s 7 rs. 5 g.s San Francisco supplement of 1792: San Blas books show 1359 p.s delivered in '94 to piloto Salvador Meléndez, the 729 included — hence 'es visible la equibocacion q.e quiso persuadir a V.S. su Ten.te D. Hermenejildo Sal q.e entonces era habilitado de aquella Comp.a, si acaso no ha sido capciosa p.a confundir u ocultar la espresada suma, como q.e hay lugar de presumirlo, habiendo resultado descubierto en tiempo de su antecesor D. Pedro Fages... hecho q.e favorece muy poco su conducta.' Cites Arrillaga's 11 Jul '94 oficio (comisionado after Gov. Romeu's death): '92 accounts credited 8286 p.s 6 rs. 8 g.s of presidio suplementos (6071-6-5 Monterey, 729-7-5 SF, 1457-1-2 Sta Bárbara, 28 p.s SD). Direct contemporary accusation against Sal as habilitado — Sal-project keystone.
