Superior Government State Papers, Benicia, tomo XIX–XXI · BANC MSS C-A 58, document 36

Previously uncatalogued — recovered by the 2026-08-27 coverage audit: the document lay inside the declared span of a grouped entry covering n40-n52, which had passed every completeness check while concealing it. Heading verbatim: '+ 1827 = Diciembre 18 = Mexico. / Gomez Pedraza al Comandte. Militar de Mont.' [= 1827, December 18, Mexico. Gomez Pedraza to the Military Commandant of Monterey.] Savage abstract, one sentence: 'Decreto aprobando el presupuesto de $2,577 para concluir la bateria de [word illegible].' A decree approving a budget of 2,577 pesos to finish a named battery. THE PLACE-NAME OF THE BATTERY IS NOT LEGIBLE TO ME on this scan - it reads to me as something like 'Talajan' or 'Salajan' but I will not commit to it, and it should be re-read before the record is published. Nothing else is on the leaf about this item; do not infer that the work was carried out.
