Fiscal. «Avisa que con fecha 26 de Octubre último le dijo el Exmo. Virrey haber mandado que se entregue por los ministros de Real hacienda de Mexico al Capitan Manuel de Carcaba, habilitado General de esos presidios, 5200 pesos para gratificar los soldados que trabajaron en la fabricacion de efectos, dando á los de Monterrey 1600 pesos y á los otros 1200 pesos por presidio.» (1600 + 3 x 1200 = 5200, i.e. Monterey plus the three other Alta California presidios.) Savage adds a keyed footnote at the foot of the leaf: «(A) (El extracto de esta carta está pagina 136 de estos extractos)» — a Savage-internal cross-reference to his own extract volume, not to the original tomo.
