Gonzalo López de Haro of San Blas], in an oficio of 7 Oct.e, reports his frigate in the 'ensenada de Pichilingue', 'maltratada pr. temporal y se encuentra sin timon'; the ventolina struck 'la tarde del 19 de Set.e'; unable to reach Loreto he asks that boats be sent to take off the cargo. Ortega adds he at once sent to Puerto Escondido to fit out 'la Goleta S.ta Saturnina al cargo de Diego Perez'; 'la Loretana, aunque se le dió carena, siempre quedó haciendo agua', so the calafate and Diego Perez resolved to strip her forro; within 3 or 4 days she will follow the Javeque to Pichilingue; crew to be hired and paid out of freights; 'D.n Ildefonso' with two others to take charge of the cargo per tit. 13 del Reglam.to.
