'Feb. 12. (Sesion de este dia.) (Perspectiva de la Guerra civil.)' Spans n134-n135. Abel Stearns excuses his failure to join the Comision. The Juez 1.o of Los Angeles forwards the sworn declaration of vecino Tomás Sanchez y Ávila, who accompanied the comisionado Visente Sanchez to Sta. Barbara: 'Que hallandose en la habitacion del Sor. General D. Manuel Micheltorena, oyó que este Senor dijo á presencia de bastantes personas, que la Asamblea era ilegal y que no la reconocia por nada.' The President held this, with the General's silence, to prove he meant to despise the Asamblea; a new communication was ordered demanding an answer 'en el preciso termino de una hora despues de recivida' - obey the corporation's acts or disown them, in which case providences would be taken for the security of the pueblos. Approved, published and circulated.

The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
