Legislative Records, tomo III–IV · BANC MSS C-A 61, document 208

Previously uncatalogued — recovered by the 2026-08-27 coverage audit: the document lay inside the declared span of a grouped entry covering n216-n245, which had passed every completeness check while concealing it. Heading verbatim: '+ 1845. Set. 22 - Ang.s / (Sesion &.)' [= 1845, September 22, Los Angeles. Session, etc.] THIS is the session the catalog record alludes to with 'installing the Superior Tribunal (Botello)', and it is September, not October. The Tribunal Superior de Justicia del Departamento had still not been installed despite the Assembly's decree. The President states the Governor had not neglected naming Ministers, but the 1er Ministro and the Fiscal had not accepted, and he was waiting to see whether the influence of certain persons could get them to accept. Botello repeats that meanwhile the Suplentes should be called so the Tribunal Superior could be installed with them; his proposition is taken into consideration. Runs n229-n230.

The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
