Archives of California, Miscellaneous, tomo — · BANC MSS C-A 62, document 147

Heading reads 'A los traidores…'. Says that informed of their infamous communication 'y de la traicion que han cometido á la Patria, quiza esperando alguna recompenza de los invasores, seduciendo á algunos vecinos honrrados del Pueblo de Santiago, para servir al Pavellon de la estrellas', but that 'esta Comend.ª pral con 370 valientes que tiene á sus ordenes, y buena oficialidad, amantes á su patria castigará á mano armada, á todos aquellos q.e han traicionado y traicionen á su Patria'; adds that before being appointed he and the Supremo Gobierno already knew of some 'desnaturalizados' in the Territory, and that he will know how to punish traitors 'con firmeza y resolucion.' [Records the resistance command's own strength: 370 men]
