Forwards a communication just received by the ayuntamiento from the Comandancia Gral de Sonora: “las fuerzas del Sup.o Gob.o que operan contra el enemigo invasor en ese Territorio han atentado contra las propiedades de alg.s individuos, contandose entre estos el R.P.F. Vicente Sotomayor” — government troops have plundered private property, including that of Fray Vicente Sotomayor, who has met his commitments to the pueblo “por bien de los Californios”; warns this will drive the most influential to abandon “la Causa Comun, y el Camino del honor”, and orders a more regular discipline among the troops.
