Spans n239-n240. Has just received the parte from his troops 'en que Comunican tener ya al enemigo reducido a un rigoroso sitio a tiro de pistola, al mismo tiempo qe se halla escaso de viveres, y apestados sus Cuarteles a los que han recogido algunas familias'; his troops 'han hecho Cuartel General la Casa de Duarte' and alternate from there with those blockading the enemy so he cannot show his head outside the fortines; requires that the permanent infantry be sent at once so that, joined to the few here and to the cavalry, triumph is assured 'en la salida que Corososamte intenten los invasores'.
