- Previously read summary: 'named recuas (Cornelio Avila 450 fan. maíz, ...)'. **The Avila figure is 40, not 450**; the glyph is a 4 followed by a 0, the same width as the adjacent 24 and 27, and 40 is of a piece with them. The 24 and 27 in the row are confirmed exactly.
- Previously read summary: '32 vecinos + 72 mujeres to misa at San Gabriel'. Leaf n383, entry 5 of the same diary: «5 = Salieron a misa **15** vecinos **72** mujeres a la mision de san Gabriel». **The count of vecinos is 15, not 32**; the 72 mujeres is exactly right, which is what identifies this as the entry the row is describing. ⚠ CAVEAT: the diary continues across n384–n387, which this pass did not read, so it cannot be excluded that a later day's entry carries 32; but no other entry would also carry 72.
The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
