El Comisionado Rivera y Moncada (carta de 2 Ago) había reclutado 118 soldados y 7 pobladores (parte en Álamos, parte en Cosalá), al cargo del Alférez Manuel García Ruiz y Ramón Lasso de la Vega, marchando a Guadalajara a completar el número; Croix le comunicó la aprobación interina del nuevo Reglamento y le manda activar la expedición de pobladores y reclutas por San Blas, Guaymas y el Río Colorado, pidiendo auxilios (copia a Moncada certificada por Bonilla) — el ensamblaje de la expedición de 1781 (Los Ángeles + presidio de Santa Bárbara; la que sufriría el desastre de Yuma en ruta)
