LONG document, spans n4-n5 and beyond. Heading verbatim: '1796 - Oct.e 4 - S.n Vicente. Gloss: Arrillaga's own site-reconnaissance for new missions, valley dimensions, permanent water at the Santa Catalina Martir aguaje, timber (pinos, encinos, pina, chamizo, jojoba, aislai, madrono, lino silvestre), pasture, and a census-estimate of the surrounding rancherias. [I believe this is the founding reconnaissance for the Dominican Mission Santa Catalina Virgen y Martir, established 1797 — inference from the place-name, not verified against a catalog record.]
