VERBATIM: 'Virey manda pagar $187 3 Rls suplidos al Comdte de la fragata amª [americana] 'Nutka' Boston en 1796' p.817 — Viceroy orders repayment of $187 3 reales supplied to the American Boston ship of 1796. Savage's reading 'Nutka' is almost certainly a miscopy of the *Otter* (Capt. Ebenezer Dorr, first US vessel on the CA coast, Oct 1796). FLAG: ship name uncertain.
