OUTSIDE THE ASSIGNED GAP but uncatalogued; emitted so it is not lost. VERBATIM heading

Provincial Records, tomo III–IV · BANC MSS C-A 23, document 1795

OUTSIDE THE ASSIGNED GAP but uncatalogued; emitted so it is not lost. VERBATIM heading: '1785 - Setᵉ 9 - Mont. / Gob. de Cals a Fenᵗᵉ Gonzales. Azotes á Indios cuatreros.' (the initial of 'Fenᵗᵉ' is formed exactly like Savage’s F elsewhere on the same leaf; I read it verbatim as Fenᵗᵉ, and infer the intended word is Tenᵗᵉ, Teniente). Gloss: Lashes for Indian cattle-rustlers. The leaf’s only catalogued row is the tobacco memorias item at p. 49.

The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
